When the leaves turn and the air sharpens, fashion follows suit, and therefore the perfect excuse to finally bring out all the cozy knits, layered jackets, and warm textures I’ve been eagerly awaiting.

Movement and texture take center stage with the return of fringe. I still can’t decide whether I like fringes or not and that is an internal battle that will never be resolved. Once reserved for festival fashion, it’s now reimagined in refined silhouettes — draping from tailored coats, skimming the hems of evening skirts, or adorning knitwear with subtle sophistication.

I must confess jackets aren’t my thing. I am more of a full length coat woman however I fear this season’s barn jackets are weaning me over. An otherwise rugged utility style is jacket is being given a contemporary makeover thus bridging practicality and polish. How lace became fashionable I do not know but all of a sudden I can’t get enough of it.
