Interview with Fashion Model Faith Bawuah

Please introduce yourself to the  readers.

 Well it really is important to stay fit and to take care if your body.

I am Faith Nana Yaw Bawuah, Ghanaian by birth and blood from South East London. I am a strong Christian, model, singer, Actor, and dancer

What inspired you to go into modelling?

 Well growing up I never thought I was good looking but I always got people come up to me and say to me you got a beautiful smile. So I thought why not do something with that smile. I thought let’s share this ‘beautiful’ smile with the world.

What did you do to gain so much knowledge in this area?

I literally just got up one day and walked to a casting and asked a few questions and they said yh sure you’ll be a great addition to the team.

What are your goals as a model? How do you see yourself progressing in this field?

 I do hope to get to the level where I am wanted by all the big brands to the extent that they’d fly me from where ever I may be to wherever the shoot may be.

Fitness is very important in the modelling industry. Could you give us any tips on staying fit and healthy?

Well it really is important to stay fit and to take care if your body. I regularly go to the gym and a bit of sports. Making sure I eat good and healthy meals. I also do a bit running every now and then when I can’t get in the gym.

Do you have any limitations in terms of clothing and “role play” during photo shoots?

Lol these are very interesting questions. Erm I am quite particular with what I’ll do and what I’ll not do. But I do have an open mind and willing to try certain things. Not necessarily but it does sure help to have those attributes. They make your work a lot more easier and make the work go faster.

Do you think that a person must possess talent to capture emotion and expression in a picture?

 Yes I do believe that as true.

What is your take on the expression “A picture is worth 1,000 words”?

 As the saying goes ‘actions are louder than words’ actions and moments are captured by pictures and in these pictures one can see a lot and be able to read in between the lines of truth and lies, beauty and ugliness.

Boy you can dress! Do you have a particular fashion style?

I started by experimenting the various styles that I could think of and see.
Lol I still haven’t settled for a particular style yet but I do enjoy going smart casual and urban these days. So I guess I’d be swerving more towards that side of fashion lol but really I don’t have a favorite.

Who or what inspires your outfits?

 I pick up a few ideas from here and there but for my urban looks I get most ideas from Joey James @dopeboyrc from The Rough Copy Group You all should follow him on instagram he has some pretty good ideas.

OMG he is my favourite.What impact has social media had on your career?

In our lives these days there is nothing much more important than social media when it comes to promoting ones self and image. It is very important that we push ourselves there and the only way to reach as many people as you possibly can is by using the social media. And that’s exactly how much of an impact the media has on my career. I post as many pictures as possible and tag them in order to reach out to the mass so they know whom I am and can easily contact me for jobs.

What tips do you have for aspiring models?

Well it is a very competitive industry and what I can say to upcoming models is that never take no for an answer keep pushing till you see yourself where you want to get to.
