Putting together an outfit isn’t everyone’s talent, knowing what goes with what could be tasking. However, it shouldn’t be the case if you bear a few things on mind. Fashion is art and therefore should have room for individuality. I don’t really agree with strict rules that say not to wear certain items with the other. Just do what looks good in your eyes, what feels good on you and carries the message you want to convey. Simply, be original to you. When it comes to styling an outfit I play by three simple guidelines, have a purpose for the outfit, have a look in mind and think about comfort. If you struggle to put together outfits, I will suggest that you do not just buy pieces of clothing with the hope that you find something to wear with them later, if you do that, you will have a wardrobe full of clothes yet have nothing to wear. Instead, go into the shops and try out a complete outfit together, that way you can see how the pieces look together, then you can decide if it works for you or not.
In today’s post I share two looks I created using inspiration from the randomest of accessories, phone cases. I know that no one starts to create a look starting with a phone case, but it is to show how we can draw inspiration from everywhere on days that we have no clue what to wear. As you may know, I have done a few blog posts about iDeal of Sweden phone cases. They have recently launched their Autumn/Winter collection centred around celebrating modern classics in fashion, while factoring in autumnal colours yet keeping the collection timeless.

I have chosen two phone cases from the collection to style outfits around. I must say that this was so much fun and easy to do because the phone cases I chose speaks to my style.
GOLDEN JADE MARBLE
The print on this case looks to me like a crystal. The print beautifully marries the marble and botanical trends which have made waves in both decor and fashion and seals these two trends together with a sprinkling of the ever so classic glittery gold shade. I feel that this case will attract people of a particular taste – the fashionista. With this in mind, I created a look which may not be an everyday look for many. I layered an asymmetrical cut blouse over an oversized shirt with exaggerated sleeves. It is certainly out there in terms of tailoring and also makes a fashion statement. Although I kept within the colour skim, I juxtaposed the flowyness of the pattern with a masculine cut silhouette.
Oh the girly girl in me absolutely adores this case! Who wouldn’t love an intricate paisley pattern with hues of blues, rosy pinks, yellows and gold flowers cladding their phone? I would! Although it has a rather muted shade of pink in the background, the speckles of colour and pattern gives it a flamboyant look. This case evokes passion, so I went with a very feminine outfit that is certainly frou frou to a T. Once again, this insane amount of vivaciousness is certainly not to everyone’s taste but I believe that it compliments the phone case so well.
